Jim Granato is an award-winning filmmaker based in Oakland, California. He has shot, directed and produced several short films and music videos since 1996. Jim has created video content for dozens of artists, non-profit & corporate organizations worldwide. His award-winning feature documentary, D TOUR, made its national broadcast premiere on Independent Lens in 2009. His work has been seen on Netflix, PBS, HBO, The History Channel, Court TV, The Travel Channel and on screens theatrically all over the world.

Jim’s first narrative feature film, BUDGET ROCK CONFIDENTIAL (aka Mummies Movie), is in post-production. Target date for completion of this rock n roll musical comedy spoof sometime in 2026.

A delinquency epidemic has broken out in San Lameo. The Mummies, caught up in the hysteria, are being pursued by an angry TV journalist, a deranged cop and a slimy group of scenesters who attempt to dethrone the Kings of Budget Rock.

D TOUR won the Golden Gate award for Bay Area Documentary Feature from the San Francisco International Film Festival in 2009. Other awards include the Best Documentary award from the Bend Film Festival, Best Music Doc from the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival, Best Documentary from San Joaquin Film Festival and an Inspire award from Donate Life Hollywood. D Tour premiered nationwide on the PBS Emmy award-winning program Independent Lens in November 2009.

"D tour" chronicles the life of a musician with "no back-up plan" as he's faced with daily dialysis, a grueling tour, and a search for a new kidney.
